We acknowledge with thanks your order of October 5 and trust that the 300 daisy wheel printers ordered will be ready for shipment in approx. 4 weeks' time. The dispatch advice will then be sent to you without further delay. Enclosed you will find our pro-forma-invoice. Please notify us as soon as the documentary credit has been opened.

C.2.

We have pleasure in receiving your order for 4,000 units of our disk cleaning device DISCLEAN. In addition, you asked to open an account with us. We very much regret that we are unable to process your order as you are doing business with us for the first time. We wish to point out that it is our practice to ask all new customers for trade and bank references. However, we are prepared to do future business on a credit basis. Please let us know as soon as possible whether this initial order should be executed on the basis of a documentary credit. Your early reply would be appreciated.

C.3.

We refer to your order for 100 of our laptops LT20 which we received on April 25. Much to our regret, we have to inform you that the model you ordered will not be available until the end of June due to an unforeseeable breakdown in our assembly shop.

Instead we can offer our model LT30, which we are prepared to let you have at the same price as the one you ordered, although its list price is 15% higher. We wish to point out that we are making this concession in view of our long-standing business connection. Please inform us by return of post whether you agree to this proposal.

C.4.

We refer to our order of 19 October for 200,000 sheets of continuous paper. Much to our regret, we must inform you that we have to cancel the above-mentioned order. The customer the paper was intended for has declared bankruptcy so that we have no more use for the paper. We hope that you will comply with our request in view of our long-standing business connection. We expect that we will soon be able to place further orders.
