1. Introductory Questions / Private Questions

§          Did you have any favorite subjects at school (grammar school - vocational  school)

§          Have you got any English-speaking friends / pen friends / chat connections  via  internet?

§          Tell us something about your private IT equipment ( hardware, software,  peripherals, accessories, gadgets/novelties )

§          At what age did you start using a computer? Type of use?

2. Everybody will be asked to describe his company and the tasks he had to perform during his training period. What did you like best –     what did you not like so much?

Job-related Questions (unless covered in the description mentioned)

       What's the name of your company? Where is it located?

       Are there any subsidiaries / branch offices / factories? – Are there any offices abroad?

       What products does your company sell / what services does it offer?

       Who are your customers/clients?

       How many people are employed in your company?

       How many trainees does your company have?

       What departments did you work in?

       What department did you work in most recently?

       What were your main tasks in that department?

       What kind of work / which department / did you like most / least? Why?

       How important is English for your job?

       What does your company do to advertise its products?

3. The following subjects can be discussed

1.     Discuss the purchase of new equipment for the travelling representatives of your company/ -ies. (e.g. mobile phones, notebooks)

2.     Discuss the installation of a new LAN in your company. What do you have to consider? What components will you have to buy? What software will you need? etc.

3.     Discuss the advantages (disadvantages?) of modern means of telecommunication. Compare modern and traditional communication procedures.

4.     Discuss what features a company website should have.

5.     Discuss how computers and the internet have changed business. Please also discuss how jobs are affected.

6.     Discuss what aspects of high-tech you find fascinating. Think about rapid developments in some areas.

7.     What do you think about the present situation of the IT-industry?

8.     What perspectives has the Internet (have Internet companies) got?

9.     What IT-companies do you like? What products in particular?

10. What do you think about the power (the products) of Microsoft?

11. What kind of company would you like to work for? What are your aims concerning your career?
